Our Team

Code 9 consists of a team of IT and CS students that have a variety of different backgrounds and skills ranging from informatics to physics. We're dedicated, hardworking and diligent in our pursuits. We have worked extremely hard over the last few months and as such we have grown both as a group and individually.

STORY

Jordan Daubinet

Team Leader

I am in my third year studying Bsc Computer Science going in to honours next year. I have experience with python, java, LMAP stack and MEAN stack. Throughout my work experience I have developed team leading skills, positive team communication skills and a hunger to solve complex problems. This projects biggest impact has been giving me a bite of the big world that is software engineering.

Seonin David

Project Manager

3rd year BSc IT student that has a passion for programming and enjoys complex problem solving. Interested in learning new languages and improving the skills that I already know. Proficient in Java, C++, C#, JavaScript and most web development languages.

Joshua Moodley

Developer

Passionate and energetic Information Technology student, currently in my third year of BSc IT (Software Development) degree at the University of Pretoria. Obtained experience in data collection, interpretation, analysis, web design, software development, media editing, photography and video editing through various ad-hoc sub-contracting work.

I’m a hardworking student currently in my 3rd year of University with hopes of getting into Honours. I’m extremely passionate about Software and Web development and have sunk countless hours into refining my skills at both University and in my free time. Proficient in LAMP Stack, MEAN stack, JavaScript and most Web development languages along with Java, C++, C#.

Jacques Smulders

Developer

I am currently in my final year of BSc Computer Science co-majoring in Physics at the University of Pretoria. I have programming experience in C++, Java, Python, Mean Stack, and Lamp Stack. I'm especially interested in mathematical modelling, and applying computational methods to solve physical problems. Throughout my university career, I have learnt how to work with other students and developed time-management skills. I plan on pursuing an Honours in Physics next year.

Technologies

In our project we used common web development tools as well as the Mean stack.

Mongodb

A noSQL database that uses JSON objects for efficient transportation of data.

Nodejs

A lightweight and efficient JavaScript runtime that runs on Chromes V8 engine. It uses a large open-source library of packages.

HTML 5

The latest version of HTML that allows us to build powerful websites with newer tags and integrations.

Express

Express is a minimal and flexible Node.js web application framework that provides a robust set of features for web and mobile applications.

CSS 3

A styling language used to bring life to HTML5.

JS

A high-level interpreted programming language used to make web page interactive. This along with HTML and CSS form the core modules of web development.
